"Connie’s Favorite Kisser"
My friend Connie Thatcher loved her dog, King. She found him eating a box of donuts outside one of the county’s first convenience stores and took him home as soon as she purchased her. King was depressed at first but acclimated to Connie’s French Provincial décor once he realized that even the luxurious canopied Louis the XIV platform bed wasn’t off limits. King climbed into bed with Connie every night and made her feel safe when the northeast winds rattled the doors and made her think. Although King is a large canine, this portrait of him is only 8″ x 10″. It’s made lovingly with real acrylic paint spread on canvas board.
