"The Facts Startled Hedy"

My good friend, Hedy Strattlebrook, was facinated with books. She said there was no topic she didn’t find interesting and that the lure of a soft couch and proper lighting was all she needed to pursue intimacy with the printed page. I recently purchased a fresh copy of “Valley Of The Dolls” at the Tri-County Women’s Circle bi-annual rummage sale, and to my amazement it was stamped “from the shelves of Hedy Strattlebrook” inside. I will always remember Hedy as a Doll herself. And I shall forever enjoy moving my eyes across the same words that once made her corneas seem so alive.
