"Sam Had A Big Board"
Sam spent every waking minute from May to September at the beach and rode the waves like no other surfer in the state. I remember him most for his form-fitting bathing pants and the multitude of surfboards he carved and painted himself. Sam liked to paint his family and all the girls he was dating on his boards and was fond of saying he was “riding them”. Here he measures 10″ x 14″, a rather dainty surface for Sam, and is painted with waterproof acrylic paint on canvas board.
